Try Again

Each time it rains and the sun follows up immediately to start shining down on earth, it reminds me of this song;

“Try again,
I remember,
There is always sunshine after rain
Can’t you see, everything gets better
When you try again.”

It reminds me of how we would sing this song at the top of our voices back in Command Secondary School, Kaduna, which happened to be one of my high schools. In service and mostly during night vigils as students in the hostel and at the courtyard to be precised. We would gather together and sing that song, and I want to believe most of us didn’t understand the depth of that song at the time.

The song might not have meant a lot at the time, but as we have grown and have become adults, it makes more sense now. That song happen to be the only song I remember from high school, which still resonates with me on a more deeper level. It makes more sense now as to why we have to keep trying regardless of what life throws at us as adults.

Some of us who went through Command Secondary School, Kaduna have been blessed with the life you’ve always wanted, some were and are still privileged to be living the life their parents already worked out for them and while some are still struggling to find balance in life.

Whatever category you fall into and or phase you are right now, it is a reminder that somehow we all have been blessed to still be alive, as some of those we grew up with are not here anymore with us to witness this life we are still privileged to witness on a daily basis. And so no matter how tough it might be with you right now, one thing is certain, and that is the fact that, “where there is life, there is hope.”

You don’t have to beat yourself up just because you haven’t attain that height you dream of yet. Just stay grateful for the gift of life everyday and stay grateful for the phase you are in at the moment. Giving up on yourself and on life wouldn’t change anything and it is also not an option either, keep looking forward to doing better with ease and keep giving in your best.

Today, why not decide to give it another shot? Try again!
